This dojo is a hidden gem. Paul is a kind, fun and accomplished sensei. Your fellow classmates will all helpful and welcoming. I went for about a year when I lived there and it was the saddest thing to give up when I moved away. Wonderful for children, teens and adults.
Years ago I studied under Paul Alagna and I still treasure my experience as a student with him. Whether it was the basics or advanced techniques that were taught…. I feel that I still really have a good foundation of martial arts because of him and United Shaolin Kempo. Paul is an excellent communicator, a very patient person, and has a very long, legitimate and consistent history of being a real Sifu.
Been to classes here the instructor is very dedicated . I have found him to be caring and concerned about his students. A very hands on approach with an incredible amount of guidance and patience.
I have had the distinct pleasure of learning from Paul at the United Shaolin Kempo Karate Studio. Not only was I able to take away lessons in karate, ground fighting and self defense, I would leave each session with personal reflection and growth. Paul is an excellent role model, an amazing teacher and in my opinion one of the most genuine and humble men I have had the pleasure to learn from.

Everyone is encouraged to learn at their own comfortable rate. The owner & instructor (Paul) has extensive real-life experience working in law-enforcement. Whether you’re a complete beginner, or a seasoned pro, this is the best self-defense school in New England. A family oriented training facility with very nice pricing.
Some of the best people in the Shaolin Kempo Karate world are easy to find here. Operating at the same location since 1968 in this family friendly atmosphere. Learn the way of the fist like many before.

I have been training at United shaolin for years it has always been a second home to me everyone there is welcoming and caring no matter what your level of training. Paul is the best kempo instructor I have ever come across and I have been in martial arts for 30 years . If your looking for a place with quality training this is the place.

Went there for many years as did my kids. Paul is an amazing instructor and is very adept at understanding how people learn differently from one another. His classes are full of great energy and the school’s philosophy around truly practical self defense set it apart. It’s worth the free one week trial (pretty sure they still offer that) to check it out if you’re looking for a great dojo.
I studied with USKK in the 90’s Paul is one of the best martial arts instructors in New England you will not find a better school or more dedicated Sensei than Paul, I highly recommend USKK for all you’re martial arts training.
Paul and George are great teachers. Paul is great with kids of all ages and adults. He teaches the Kempo which I started with my daughter. I was not really sure how long I would do it for. But with me being a personal trainer. I found it very advantageous for both me and my clients for me to continue to study it. So I now can incorporate it into my training.
George is great with weapons, boxing and any other martial arts out there. I am very blessed to have them both as my teachers and for my kids to have them as well. Keep up the good work
My Son has been going here for 7 years and I couldn’t be happier with the training he receives. What I like best is there aren’t participation trophies here, your kids or if you’re an adult will earn your belt and actually learn the technique so they are true to their belt color. If you want your child to earn a belt just for showing up then this school isn’t for you. The teachers are friendly and you won’t find a more affordable karate school in the area. I give United Shoalin Kempo Karate of Waltham 5 stars!
